The Butterfly Project Opening Reception
September 14, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeART. REMEMBRANCE. A LESSON FOR LIFE.
The Butterfly Project is a grass roots arts and education initiative that memorializes the 1.5 million children killed in the Holocaust through global displays of ceramic butterflies – one butterfly painted for each child. Using the lessons of the Holocaust and the healing power of art, this project aspires to find hope in one of history’s great tragedies and empowers us all to take action to create a more peaceful world. This special community-wide exhibit features over 500 ceramic painted butterflies created by people of all ages in our community. Each one of these butterflies is a message of remembrance, hope and transformation. Join us on the 14th and be able to paint your own ceramic butterfly! www.thebutterflyprojectnow.org.
